Getting around New York City is a hassle-free endeavor when you stay at Hotel Pennsylvania – especially since we are right across the street from Penn Station. Our convenient location in the heart of Midtown makes travel easy with a variety of transportation options. Whether you’re coming from a nearby airport or are looking to navigate through one of the greatest cities in the world, our transportation information for midtown NYC will help get you where you need to be.


With the 1-2-3 line right across the street from us, practically anywhere in New York is just a few steps away. Trains run 24 hours 7 days a week. The cost is $2.75 for a single ride anywhere in the city and transfers are free as long as you stay in the system and do not exit through a turnstile.


At Penn Station across from us, MTA buses enable city sightseeing while you travel. You can see the full bus routes map by clicking here. A single ride costs $2.75.


When your feet get tired or you are in a hurry, just flag down a cab anywhere in the city (available cabs will have an illuminated white light on the roof to identify vacancy). The minimum fare is $2.50 and increases $.40 every fifth of a mile.

Citi Bike:

From JFK

  • Head south on I-678 S towards Exit B

  • Take Exit B towards 130th Place

  • Keep right at the fork and merge onto 130th Place

  • Continue straight onto Pan Am Avenue

  • Turn right onto Lefferts Blvd

  • Turn left onto N Conduit Avenue

  • Slight right onto Albert Road

  • Slight right onto Cross Bay Boulevard

  • Continue onto Woodhaven Boulevard

  • Take the Interstate 495 W/LI Expressway ramp to Midtown Run

  • Merge onto I-495 W

  • Take the exit toward E 37th Street

  • Keep left and merge onto E 37th Street

From LGA

  • Continue straight onto LaGuardia Access Road

  • Take the ramp on the left onto Grand Central Parkway

  • Merge onto Grand Central Parkway

  • Take exit 4 for interstate 278 W/Brooklyn-Queens Expressway W

  • Continue onto I-278 W/Brooklyn Queens Expressway

  • Take exit 35 for I-495/LI Expressway

  • Keep left to continue on Exit 35W

  • Merge onto E 37th Street

  • Turn left onto 7th Avenue
