Navigate Your Way through Midtown Manhattan

Grand Central Station

Getting around New York City is a hassle-free endeavor when you stay at Hotel Pennsylvania – especially since we are right across the street from Penn Station. Our convenient location in the heart of Midtown makes travel easy with a variety of transportation options. Whether you’re coming from a nearby airport or are looking to navigate through one of the greatest cities in the world, our NYC hotel directions will help get you where you need to be.

Subway:

With the 1-2-3 line right across the street from us, practically anywhere in New York is just a few steps away. Trains run 24 hours 7 days a week. The cost is $2.75 for a single ride anywhere in the city and transfers are free as long as you stay in the system and do not exit through a turnstile.

Bus:

At Penn Station across from us, MTA buses enable city sightseeing while you travel. You can see the full bus routes map by clicking here. A single ride costs $2.75.

Taxi:

When your feet get tired or you are in a hurry, just flag down a cab anywhere in the city (available cabs will have an illuminated white light on the roof to identify vacancy). The minimum fare is $2.50 and increases $.40 every fifth of a mile.

Citi Bike:

New York City offers an abundance of adventure spanning over its culturally-infused and distinctive neighborhoods. While walking through the streets of Manhattan offers a thrilling opportunity to soak up some of the most significant architectural features of iconic buildings and sights, taking advantage of Citi Bike, a NYC bike sharing system, allows you to see Manhattan from a whole new vantage point. One of the many Citi Bike stations is located right outside our hotel, at the 33rd Street entrance.

How Citi Bike in NYC Works:

  • Unlock from any station: Purchase a 24-hour or 7-day access pass, unlock a bike and adjust for fit

  • Ride wherever you want

  • Return to station

New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania encourages you to drive carefully and always wear a bicycle helmet. We accept no liability for any accidents on Citi Bike or any other conveyance.

Walking:

To really experience the charm of New York, you need to walk around. And just steps from the doors of Hotel Pennsylvania are a variety of great New York City places to visit.
