Music is heating up NYC this summer!
Every year, New York is full of amazing concerts and music festivals. At Hotel Pennsylvania, we’re thrilled to see all sort of music enthusiasts come through our doors. From guests who are marching across the street to see Billy Joel at The Garden to festival-heads who are preparing for an all-day bash at Governors Ball; we’ve seen everyone come through. Here are some of the festivals and concerts that we recommend.
The annual festival at Randalls Island is a bash that never fails to live up to the hype. Everybody from Jack White to Eminem perform at this ecclectic event. From synth-pop to rock to hip-hop, there is a little something for everyone. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, you’re going to want to act quickly as the event is June 1-3.
Hot 97 Summer Jam
If you’re a hip-hop or rap enthusiast, this one can’t be missed. Thrown by our local hip-hop radio station, Summer Jam is LOADED with today’s top talent on the mic. This year, the festival is headed by Kendrick Lamar and features everyone from Lil Wayne to A$AP Ferg. This event takes place on June 10, 2018.
While it’s not a typical festival SummerStage takes over Central Park every year and is the perfect choice for locals and tourists alike who want to get a little musical treat in one of the most iconic parks in the world. If you’re into indie-rock and discovering some great up-and-coming artists, you’re going to want to check the schedule and hit up a show or two. This event goes on from May to October.
MoMA PS1 Warm Up 2018
If you’re looking for something awesomely unique, look no further. Ever Saturday, Warm Up takes over the MoMA PS1 courtyard and turns it into a party! It’s a 10-week celebration of live and electronic music that gets way more hype than any museum event you’ve been to before. Big acts like Cashmere Cat (June 30) are even scheduled to perform.
Panorama Music Festival
Another great event on Randalls Island Park, Panorama is a massive music event that caps off July in style. This year, the three headliners are The Weeknd, Janet Jackson, and The Killers. It really doesn’t get any better than that!
Whatever you have in your headphones right now, there’s a festival or concert series in New York this summer that you aren’t going to want to miss.
Since those tickets are expensive, you might as well save your money on a hotel room and book with us. Hotel Penn is located so close to Penn Station that you can get anywhere in the city easily and quickly. It’s just sound logic in our eyes. We look forward to seeing you soon!
