Dance the night away in the city that never sleeps!

New York City is home to some of the best dance troupes, companies, and clubs in the country so whether you appreciate it as a spectator or participant there is no better place to enjoy dancing. It’s the birthplace of several forms and variations of dance including breaking which originated in the Bronx in the 1970s. During the 20th century modern dance emerged in the city as a new distinctively American form of dance.

New York City is often considered a mosaic of cultures, and its cultural diversity equates to various dance options at your fingertips. You can try your hand at salsa, hip-hop, ballroom, and ballet all in one night if you want. Or you can take in world-class performances at famed venues. The city is even home to the most prestigious dance academies in the country including the world-renowned Julliard and the American Ballet Company.

Even Hollywood understands the significance; New York City has played in the evolution of dance in America. Dance movies have a special place in the market and New York has been the backdrop for some of the most popular dance films. Hits including Center Stage, Black Swan, and Saturday Night Fever to name a few, all take place in the big city!

Dubbed New York’s Most Legendary Club, Cielo offers one of the best sound systems in the city for getting your dance on.

This famous club has been around since 1940 and has had famous performers including Sam Cook and Sammy Davis Jr. grace its stage. Be aware that there is a strict dress code enforced.

Here you have a choice of two dance floors: On one you can groove to the latest top 40 hits and on the other you can try your hand at Latin Fusion.

A relative to the world-renowned Ibiza dance club, Pacha NYC is the only North American branch. It’s become a bit of an institution in the city in less than a decade and shows no signs of slowing down the music. Located in Hell’s Kitchen, you can grab a late dinner and then head over to the club to burn off your meal on the dance floor!

Not your average NYC club, HILO is more of a hidden gem. With a general focus of just having a good time, there is no velvet rope or cover charge.
