SummerStage 2014

May 20th 2014

SummerStage returns on May 20th and will run throughout the summer and into September. This annual festival offers numerous free performances as well as more premium events for which tickets can be purchased. Predominately held in Central Park this summer’s series will include performers: Neon Trees, Beck, Counting Crows, The Neighbourhood and more.

Intrepid Summer Movie Series

One of New Yorkers' favorite pastimes in the city is outdoor movie screenings; it’s free and fun for the whole family. New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania guests can walk over to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on the Hudson River to enjoy sea, air and space themed movies on the flight deck all summer long. Movies on deck for this summer include Top Gun, Gravity, Captain Phillips, Independence Day and more. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks for this truly New York experience. The series will run from May 23, 2014 to August 14, 2014.

Shakespeare in the Park

Free world-class theater in the city’s most iconic park! Every summer Central Park’s Delacorte Theater invites the public to enjoy the works of Shakespeare. This annual New York tradition features a night of great performances from some of the industry’s most beloved thespians. In previous years the playbill has included Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman to name a few. This June Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe return to the stage in Much Ado About Nothing with three-time Tony® winner Jack O’Brien directing. In July John Lithgow will star as King Lear in the Shakespearean stage production. Although this is a free event, to ensure a spot you can also purchase tickets for $200 per seat.
