Free world-class theater in the city’s most iconic park! Every summer Central Park’s Delacorte Theater invites the public to enjoy the works of Shakespeare. This annual New York tradition features a night of great performances from some of the industry’s most beloved thespians. In previous years the playbill has included Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman to name a few. This June Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe return to the stage in Much Ado About Nothing with three-time Tony® winner Jack O’Brien directing. In July John Lithgow will star as King Lear in the Shakespearean stage production. Although this is a free event, to ensure a spot you can also purchase tickets for $200 per seat.
