The weather is ideal, the kids are looking to have as much fun as possible before heading back to school and end of summer sales are in full swing. On top of that, there are tons of events you will regret missing! What’s not to love?

Festival season is still going strong in New York and August is serving up a boatload of things to do for the whole family. Here are some of your best bets for fun this month:

New York International Fringe Festival – August 8-24, 2014

North America’s largest multi-arts festival returns in its 18th year on August 8-24, 2014. With more than 200 companies from around the world the festival will feature over 1,000 performances at venues around the city. Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival – August 9-10, 2014

The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival will be held August 9-10, 2014 in Flushing Meadows Park. This festival is held each year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It features several rowing teams competing by rowing narrow boats decorated like a Chinese dragon complete with a head and tail. The festival also includes music, dancing, marital arts demonstrations, food, and more. But be aware that you may need an umbrella; the event happens rain or shine. Jazz Age Lawn Party – August 16, 2014

This month, Governor’s Island will host the City’s original prohibition era inspired gatherings, the Jazz Age Lawn Party. US Open Tennis Championships – August 25 – September 8, 2014

Don’t just love NYC, ’15-love’ it! Tennis’s biggest stars are in New York to battle it out for the title in the final Grand Slam Tournament of the season, the U.S. Open. Electric Zoo Festival – August 29, 2014
