Touchdowns and Golden Goals in the City

Sep 19th 2013

Break out the big board and start up the fantasy league – Football and Hockey are back; sports fans rejoice!

While the football season kicked off on September 12th, the hockey season is warming up for the puck drop on October 1st, which means fantasy teams and pools are starting. It also means that rivalries are revitalized amongst loyal fans, especially in NYC because in a city this big, we need two teams for each! New Yorkers pack stadiums for two professional hockey teams (New York Rangers and New York Islanders) and two professional football teams (New York Giants and New York Jets).

Every fall the city’s fans are divided – Giants vs Jets and Rangers vs Islanders – and New Yorkers are notorious for being loyal to their teams, which makes for incredible live entertainment on game days! Whether you are front row for a big game or cheering in front of the television in a New York sports bar, the energy is electric and the atmosphere is exhilarating.

Seeing live football and hockey games while in New York is a great activity for when the weather turns cold, and provides an authentic American experience. The New York Rangers’ home ice is located directly across from New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania at Madison Square Garden, making our hotel the perfect pre game and post game destination for drinks, food and a place to crash after all of the excitement.
