The ‘Center’ of the Big Apple: Jacob K. Javits Center

Oct 03rd 2013

Dubbed the ‘Marketplace for the World’, the Jacob K. Javits Center is the host venue for some of New York’s largest and best conventions and events. Located just a short walk from New York's Hotel Pennsylvania, there’s always something going on just down the street.

From Comic Con to convocation ceremonies, if the walls of the center could talk they’d tell you that they’ve seen it all! The center welcomes an average of 3.5 million guests every year for popular shows such as the International Auto Show and Art Expo. Then there are the private trade shows that bring people from all over the world to the Big Apple.

It boasts over 760,000 square feet of exhibit space, making it one of the largest indoor spaces in Manhattan. It was built in 1986 and has held thousands of events including many of the top 200 trade shows. Its midtown West Side Manhattan location puts visitors attending conventions in the heart of the city where all of the action is. With some of New York’s best restaurants, attractions, and entertainment nearby, the Jacob K. Javits Center is the ultimate venue for both business and leisure.

There’s always something going on but here are some of the more popular and noteworthy events:

New York Comic Con – October 10-13, 2013

New York National Boat Show – January 1-5, 2014

American International Toy Fair – February 18-19, 2014
