Raising the Bar for Patio Season

May 29th 2014

As we look towards warmer weather we can’t help but get excited for the New York City patio season. We’ve listed some of our favorite dining places in the past but this time we are looking at it from a whole new angle, a higher one! New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania is looking at the best places to grab a bite or drink above the bustling streets.

In a city as big as New York there are endless dining and drinking establishment options but there’s something to be said about a rooftop patio. The atmosphere is unlike anything else when you’re floating above the crowded streets and amongst the twinkling lights of the skyline with only the night sky or warm sun above you.

Here are our favorite elevated patios in the city:

The Delancey
Located in the Lower East Side, this rooftop will leave you feeling as though you’re in Vegas or Miami with the palm trees, white chaise lounges and vibrating music from the popular music venue below.

Dinner on Ludlow
Always a crowd favorite, Dinner on Ludlow is a restaurant/lounge in the Lower East Side offering everything you could want including food, drinks, and music high above the bustling streets. Rain or shine, it doesn’t matter; there’s a retractable roof.

Bar 13
A hot spot among NYU students; this gem located in Greenwich Village is a great place to dance the night away. Known for its wide range of music, Bar 13 regularly draws a young crowd with its cheap drinks.

Berry Park
Offering an incredible view of the Manhattan skyline this larger than life rooftop bar nestled in Williamsburg is your go-to place for a soccer match. It offers European beers and German food favorites such bratwurst with sauerkraut. It also features a retractable glass roof for rainy days.

La Birreria
Rooftop patio and brewery rolled into one, what more could you ask for on a sunny day? This beer-pairing restaurant is located in Chelsea atop the iconic Flatiron building and has a removable roof for days when the weather isn’t on your side. It’s even open in the winter months!

Night of Joy
In the heart of one of the city’s fastest growing and trendiest neighborhoods, this Williamsburg favorite offers a view of Manhattan and a buzzing patio adorned with lanterns. Just as the name suggests, you’re in for a night full of joy at this watering hole above the streets.

We could go on and on as the city boasts some of the best rooftop patios in the country, but you’ll have to wait and experience them for yourself this season when you’re visiting us!
